We work with several local legal aid solicitors who help us give free 15 minute appointments in the following areas: housing, tenancy, family, employment. Please ring to make an appointment.

Please bring all the relevant documents regarding your situation to your appointment.

We can give advice in the following areas:

Discrimination / Equality
 
In the workplace, where you live or study, in the services you use
Race, religion or belief, disability, age, sex and sexual orientation, maternity related, trans identity, national origin, marriage and civil partnership status, and more.
 
Family

Matrimonial and divorce, separation, cohabiting, children and parental rights and responsibilities.

Housing/tenancy 

Landlord/tenant disputes, private rental agreements, rent arrears, repossession, eviction, notice, disrepair, temporary accommodation, local authority banding, homelessness.  Please note that we can give free initial advice to homeowners, but legal aid is not available for those who own a home, even if it’s mortgaged.

Welfare and Benefits 

Refused claims, appeals, overpayments, qualifying for benefits, tribunals.

Employment

Contracts, disputes, disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals, maternity rights, discrimination, harassment, redundancy.

General advice

Problems with bills (ie disputed bills), consumer rights and contracts, buying/selling a home, wills & probate, dealing with authorities, education.

Immigration

Illegally in the UK, applying for visas, and citizenship – note that we give ADVICE ONLY and are qualified to give this advice.
